Sales and Order Planning Manager
Role Overview
The Sales and Order Planning Manager is responsible for coordinating sales demand, production planning, and order fulfilment to ensure Brian James Trailers delivers exceptional customer service while maintaining operational efficiency. This role acts as the key link between Sales, Production, Purchasing, Logistics, and Business Development teams, ensuring customer orders are accurately forecast, planned, and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Demand Planning
- Develop, maintain and Monitor order intake and identify potential risks or opportunities affecting production capacity & planning, dealer feedback, and business intelligence.
- Produce regular sales and demand reports for senior management.
Order Management
- Oversee the end-to-end dealer order process from receipt through to delivery via the administration and processing teams.
- Ensure dealer orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Manage order prioritisation in line with business objectives and customer commitments.
- Resolve order-related issues and communicate updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
Production & Capacity Planning
- Work closely with Production, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to balance demand with available capacity.
- Identify potential constraints and implement solutions to improve throughput and delivery performance.
- Support central stock planning to maintain appropriate stock levels while minimising excess inventory.
Performance Management
- Monitor key performance indicators including order fulfilment, on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Analyse operational performance and recommend process improvements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across sales and planning processes.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of coordination between Sales, Production, Purchasing, Logistics, and the Business Development team.
- Provide clear communication regarding demand forecasts, order status, production priorities, and delivery expectations.
- Support dealer and customer relationships through proactive planning and service excellence.
Skills & Experience
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools.
- Experience within manufacturing, automotive, engineering, or related industries is desirable.

Salary: DOE
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
