About us
Trust We Care is a CQC-registered supported living provider transforming supported living for adults with learning disabilities, autism with high support needs, and mental health challenges. We're looking for a warm, dependable Support Worker to join our team in the Hinckley area and help the people we support live independent, fulfilling lives.
The role
As a Support Worker, you'll provide person-centred care and support tailored to each individual's care plan — helping people build life skills, make informed choices, and take part in their community on their own terms.
What you'll be doing:
● Providing day-to-day care and support in line with individual care plans, promoting independence, dignity, and choice
● Administering medication safely and accurately in line with company policy — full training is given during your induction shadowing period, so no prior experience is needed
● Supporting with personal care, including continence, health and medication needs, and personal affairs, where required
● Acting as a keyworker for an individual service user, taking ownership of specific areas of their care and support
● Recognising signs of distress and responding with positive, non-aversive interventions, including support around challenging behaviours
● Helping people find and access social, leisure, educational, and community activities, and supporting them to work towards their personal goals
● Working alongside people with everyday tasks in their own home — cooking, shopping, and keeping their space tidy — encouraging them to do as much for themselves as they're able to, and stepping in with extra support where needed
● Recording information accurately and communicating effectively with the wider team, including in-person, written, and via our Carer App
What we're looking for
Essential:
● Care Certificate, or willingness to complete one within your first 12 weeks
● Willingness to apply for an Enhanced DBS with the Update Service (we cover the initial cost, but you'll be responsible for maintaining your subscription)
● A good level of literacy and strong written and verbal communication skills
● A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable adults with dignity, respect, and according to their wishes
● Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
● A flexible, dependable, and friendly approach —evening and weekend flexibility needed
● Comfortable working alone in the community and in supported people’s homes during lone-working shifts
● Comfortable around technology to help people access services and opportunities, and for using our Carer app for daily notes and reports
Desirable:
● QCF Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, or willingness to work towards it
● Previous experience in a health and social care setting
● Awareness of CQC regulatory requirements
● Understanding of learning disabilities and/or mental health support needs
● A full UK driving licence (you may be asked to drive a company vehicle or your own insured vehicle)
