Millview Medical Centre is a friendly two site General Practice located in the rural village of Heckington as well as the growing market town of Sleaford. The surgery has over 12,500 patients, 1000+ of which are dispensing patients. The role will be working predominantly at the main site in Heckington with a team of other dispensary staff.
Job Description
The surgery IT system is TPP SystmOne, and it would be of benefit if the applicant had a good working knowledge of this system as well as Microsoft Word and Teams.
You will be required to:
- ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription
- ensure that all monies received are appropriately stored and a record kept of all financial transactions including credit/debit card transactions
- collate and forward the forms in a secure manner to the PPA for processing and reimbursement
- operate efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the practice
- ensure that shelves and all work surfaces are regularly cleaned to maintain a high level of hygiene within the dispensary
- take prompt action in response to any drug alert bulletins
- ensure that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and to maintain a temperature control record
- maintain full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions incorporating the use of computers when available and appropriate
- undertake any necessary work as may be required and appropriate to maintain a high standard and efficient dispensing service
- process all relevant prescriptions as authorised by GPs and prescribing staff where appropriate in accordance with the good practice principles of the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme
Candidate’s must have at least a NVQ level 2 qualification in dispensing or equivelent.
The dispensary is open Monday to Friday 8.30 to 5.30.
We are looking for an individual to work 17 hours per week. The hours of work will be:
Tuesday 08.30 - 17.30
Wednesday 08.30 - 12.30
Thursday 12.30 - 17.30
