To support this exciting time of change, we are seeking to enhance the current and deeply committed Building Control team by the appointment of the right candidate to the role of a further Registered Building Inspector. This key role will help support Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council’s responsibilities under the Building Safety Act delivering high-quality Building Control services across the borough and beyond.
You’ll be an integral part of a dynamic and motivated team that undertakes restricted functions and restricted activities, as appropriate to the level of your competency, as well as other building control related activities as required. The Council will also offer the necessary supervision for activities outside current competency levels to ensure continuing professional development along with support in career progression. You will help cultivate good working relationships with key internal and many external partners as well as offering excellent customer service to ensure safe, compliant, and sustainable development across the borough of Blackburn with Darwen. Excellent customer care skills, along with a good commercial awareness are therefore essential.
In addition, applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment towards continued professional development. A high degree of self-motivation, excellent organisation skills and a positive approach will be essential to fulfil the role on offer along with the ability to work as part of the team to deliver a quality service on time and within budget.
Appointment for the post will be based on experience and meeting the requirements of the respective Key Requirements document. Consideration will be given for applicants currently registered at Class 2A or above.
