Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dog Day Care Assistant to join our friendly team. This role involves caring for dogs in a lively and supportive environment, ensuring their safety, happiness, and well-being throughout their stay. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the physical capability to handle the demands of the role. This position offers an engaging opportunity to work closely with animals while providing exceptional care and support to pet owners.
Responsibilities
- Supervising dogs during playtime and rest periods to ensure their safety and behaviour management
- Assisting with feeding, watering, and administering medication as required
- Cleaning kennels, play areas, and equipment to maintain hygiene standards
- Monitoring dogs’ health and behaviour, reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly
- Engaging dogs in stimulating activities to promote mental and physical well-being
- Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs and progress
- Assisting with general organisational tasks within the facility, including light administrative duties when necessary
Experience
- Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of dog behaviour and handling techniques is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional manner
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling supplies or assisting with cleaning routines
- Passionate about animals with a genuine interest in their welfare
- Must be studying or have completed the level 3 award in canine care, behaviour and welfare.

This role is for a Thursday morning only at the moment from 7AM to 10AM.
Pay: £15.00 per hour
