AGA COUTURE LONDON is a bespoke fashion atelier based in Weybridge, specialising in occasionwear, bridalwear, eveningwear, alterations and garment restyling.
We are looking for an experienced Seamstress / Dressmaker to support our atelier on a part-time freelance basis.
The ideal person will be highly skilled, precise and confident working independently, with excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of high-quality garment construction and finishing.
Responsibilities
- Professional machine sewing and garment construction
- Alterations and garment restyling
- Working with occasionwear, bridalwear and eveningwear
- Sewing delicate fabrics including lace, chiffon, organza, satin and similar materials
- Hand finishing and detailed sewing work
- Following instructions accurately and maintaining a high standard of finish
- Pressing and preparation of garments where required
Essential experience and skills
- Professional sewing or dressmaking experience
- Excellent machine sewing skills
- Experience in garment construction and alterations
- Confidence working with delicate and luxury fabrics
- Excellent attention to detail and precision
- Ability to work independently
- Reliable and organised
Desirable
- Bridalwear or occasionwear experience
- Couture or sample-room experience
- Pattern cutting knowledge
Hours
Approximately 1–3 days per week depending on workload.
Pay
£15–£20 per hour depending on experience and skill level.
Location
Weybridge, Surrey. This is primarily an atelier-based role.
The position will initially be offered on a paid freelance/self-employed basis, with the possibility of developing into a longer-term arrangement for the right person.
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to attend a paid practical sewing trial.
