Due to continued growth, we are looking to expand our network of experienced Freelance Functional Skills Tutors to deliver engaging English and Maths training.
The Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and learner-focused Functional Skills Tutors to deliver high-quality English and/or Maths/Digital qualifications to adult learners.
You will inspire and motivate learners, adapting your teaching to meet individual needs while ensuring high standards of delivery, learner achievement and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Functional Skills English and/or Maths/Digital sessions from Entry Level to Level 3.
- Plan and deliver lessons that meet awarding organisation and curriculum requirements.
- Assess learners' progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Prepare learners for examinations and assessments.
- Maintain accurate learner records, attendance and progress documentation.
- Differentiate learning to support learners with varying abilities and additional learning needs.
- Create an inclusive, supportive and motivating learning environment.
- Ensure all delivery complies with awarding organisation requirements, quality standards and company policies.
- Promote safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and health and safety throughout delivery.
Essential Requirements
- A recognised teaching qualification (Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or above).
- Level 3 (minimum) qualifications in English, Maths and Digital.
- Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths/Digital to adult learners.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and online learning platforms.
- A commitment to supporting learners from diverse backgrounds to achieve positive outcomes.
Desirable
- Level 3, Level 4 or Level 5 subject specialist qualification in English and/or Maths/Digital.
- Experience delivering DWP-funded programmes or employability provision.
- Experience working with unemployed adults or learners requiring additional support.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
