Gift Shop Assistant – Full Time

Do you enjoy helping customers and creating a welcoming shopping experience? We're looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Gift Shop Assistant to join our team at our newly refurbished Merryhatton Garden Centre.
As part of our gift shop team, you'll help customers discover everything from beautiful homeware and gifts to seasonal collections, while delivering the excellent customer service Caulders is known for.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing a warm, friendly welcome to every customer.
- Operating the tills and processing cash and card payments.
- Replenishing stock and creating attractive product displays.
- Helping customers with product enquiries and recommendations.
- Maintaining high standards of presentation throughout the gift shop.
- Receiving and unpacking deliveries.
- Working closely with the wider garden centre team to ensure an excellent customer experience.
- Supporting with seasonal displays and merchandising throughout the year.
What We're Looking For
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.
- A friendly, positive and approachable attitude.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A keen eye for detail and merchandising.
- The ability to work well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work weekends as part of your regular shift pattern.

Location: Caulders Merryhatton
11 Holding
North Berwick
EH39 5JS
Hours: Full Time – 30–32 hours per week, typically over 4–5 days, including regular weekend working.
Pay: National Minimum Wage (dependent on age and experience).
