**Barista — Part Time**
Foresters Coffee, 128 High Street, Uckfield 16–24 hours per week, plus additional shifts as required
**About Us** Foresters Coffee is an independent specialty coffee shop on Uckfield High Street, open seven days a week since February 2025. Our coffee is ethically sourced and roasted by one of the UK's leading roasters — the first and only regenerative roastery in the UK. We stock a rotating range of rare, small-batch and experimental coffees from around the world, served as espresso or brewed on V60, and we create our own signature drinks. Our equipment reflects our standards: La Marzocco, Mahlkönig and Mazzer. Our food is prepared fresh in-house.
**The Role** You will be responsible for preparing and serving coffee to a consistently high standard, delivering excellent customer service, and helping maintain the quality and presentation of the shop. Key responsibilities: - Preparing and serving espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, teas and signature drinks to specification - Providing warm, attentive customer service and building relationships with regular customers - Talking knowledgeably with customers about our coffees - Preparing and serving food to order - Maintaining a clean and tidy shop throughout each shift, including equipment, counter, prep areas and customer areas - Following food safety and allergen procedures at all times - Operating the till and processing payments accurately
**What We're Looking For** - Specialty coffee experience preferred — a working understanding of extraction, shot timing and milk texturing is a strong advantage - Full training will be given to the right candidate with genuine enthusiasm and an interest in coffee - Reliability and good timekeeping - High standards of cleanliness and presentation - A friendly, calm manner with customers, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Weekend availability, as we trade seven days a week.
