Reynco Ltd is delighted to be partnered with a specialist construction product manufacturer to assist in the appointment of a Design Technician to join their technical team in their head office in Suffolk.
The Design Technician will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and design information to support projects and customers, working closely with Technical Sales Managers and Technical Surveyors.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within flat roofing design, ideally with tapered insulation experience, although candidates from the wider roofing, construction or architectural sectors with strong AutoCAD skills will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
· Producing accurate flat roof drawings and bespoke technical details using AutoCAD.
· Supporting tapered insulation design and project-specific layouts.
· Completing and supporting design calculations, including U-Value, rainwater and wind load calculations.
· Maintaining drawing standards, detail libraries and version control.
· Interpreting roof survey information and apply this to designs
· Working closely with Technical Sales Managers and Technical Roof Surveyors to understand project requirements.
· Managing own workload and ensuring design work is delivered accurately and within agreed timescales.
· Supporting continuous improvement across design processes and systems.
Role Requirements
· Strong AutoCAD experience within a technical design environment.
· Previous experience within flat roofing, roofing or a relevant construction design environment.
· Tapered insulation design experience would be highly advantageous.
· Knowledge of thermal performance, U-Value calculations or wind-load calculations would be also be beneficial, although training can be provided.
· Strong attention to detail with a methodical and accountable approach to work.
· Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
· Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a technical team.
· Willingness to develop technical knowledge within the roofing and building envelope sector.
