Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Precast Concrete Production Operative / Steel Fixer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in the production of high-quality precast concrete elements and assist with steel reinforcement tasks. You will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient assembly, reinforcement, and quality control of precast components used in various construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, mechanical aptitude, and a strong work ethic to contribute to our fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and assembly of precast concrete components according to project specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment to cut, shape, and position steel reinforcement bars (rebar) accurately.
- Fabricate and fix steel reinforcement cages for precast elements, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality requirements.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to move materials, formwork, or precast units within the production area.
- Support the maintenance of a clean, organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency on site.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets while adhering to health and safety regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience working with hand tools, power tools and mechanical systems in a construction or manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of steel fixing techniques, including bending, tying rebar for concrete reinforcement.
- Familiarity with precast concrete production processes is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a physically demanding environment.
- Valid experience operating commercial vehicles or driving forklifts is a plus but not mandatory.
