UNG is an established specialist construction and engineering contractor delivering complex projects across the data centre construction, building services engineering and facilities management throughout the UK.
We are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team, reporting directly to the Commercial Director. Working closely with our Project Managers, Engineers and Technical Teams, you will play a key role in driving commercial awareness, contractual compliance and best practice across our projects, helping maximise project performance and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of construction and engineering projects
- Valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Variations, change control and contractual notices
- Cost forecasting, CVRs and cashflow management
- Subcontract procurement and management
- Commercial risk and opportunity management
- Contract administration, change management and entitlement protection
- Commercial support to Project Managers and operational teams
What We're Looking For
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
- Experience within Construction, M&E Building Services, Engineering or Specialist Contracting environments.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness, with knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
- Confident dealing with client representatives, sub-contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across commercial, operational and technical teams.
- Experience managing valuations, variations, change control, compensation events and final accounts.
- Experience producing CVRs, forecasts, cashflow reports and commercial reporting.
- Ability to identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Organised, proactive and commercially focused, with the confidence to challenge and provide commercial guidance where required.
- A collaborative, hands-on approach and a desire to play an active role within a close-knit and supportive team.
