Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations. Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a professional culinary setting.
Responsibilities
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to maintain hygiene standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Ensuring the cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment throughout the shift
- Supporting the storage of ingredients and supplies in designated areas
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Adhering to all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, or culinary practices is a plus
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced environment
