Aviation Security Officer - Rota pattern 4 on - 4 off - Nights/Days

Are you ready to take your security career to the next level? We have unique opportunities within our Emergency Response Team for Protection Officers to join our team in Broughton for our prestige client within the Aviation & Manufacturing industry.
The fundamental of the role is to provide a secure, resilient and safe manufacturing environment which adheres to regulations, upholds policies and promotes a safety-focused culture. Protection Officers will engage with internal stakeholders, including employees, as well as external visitors, contractors and a variety of agencies. Good standards of communication and understanding of applicable regulations will be required.
As a multi-functional Protection Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of scheduled tasks, some of which are listed below. In addition, the successful candidate will be the first responder to a variety of incidents including security, fire, medical and environmental matters. All training associated with the role will be provided
In summary, the key responsibilities:

Deliver reception-based security and administrative tasks

Managing the authorised access of visitors and vehicles, performing document authenticity checks in line with client procedures, including the undertaking of site inductions.

Controlling access and egress of authorised personnel to the site, including the management and administration of keys and access control passes.

Undertake search protocols to prevent loss of client's assets, including IT equipment, materials and tools.
-
Undertake surveillance of the client's premises by undertaking foot, mobile and remote CCTV patrols, monitoring critical infrastructure, key assets and site-user behaviours, including drone incursions and suspicious packages.

Monitor and respond to building, fire and intruder detection alarms, logging all occurrences, actions taken and outcomes.

Carrying out vehicle searches on all vehicles.

To prevent unauthorised entry to and exit from buildings, aircraft, and other specified areas.

To liaise with and summon assistance from Police, Immigration, and other emergency services, as necessary.

Participate in scenario-based training and skills practice to ensure full readiness. (some training will be done when off shift with notice, so you will need to work minimal days for training supplied externally).

In the event of an emergency arising, be able to respond quickly to designated emergency locations.

Adhere to safety protocols for personal protective equipment.

Working in collaboration with the client's security management and a variety of departmental leads to protect the assets and manufacturing operations.

Apply de-escalation techniques to matters of conflict, avoid engaging in confrontational dialogue with auditors and protestors - operating in accordance with client and Mitie guidelines, and legislation

Report all incidents, near-misses and breaches via the client's incident management systems, including the collation of evidence and witness details for future investigation

Perform routine system and alarm health checks to ensure they are in working order, reporting any system faults or infrastructure defects via the client's estates help desk or CAFM.

Undertake GDPR, Cyber Security and Acceptable Usage training to protect the information technology infrastructure of the client.

The Aviation Security Officer role is a physical one, with an average level of fitness and must be maintained.

It is a requirement of Mitie to complete an airside driving medical every 3 years.

The company must be informed of any prescribed medication likely to affect your performance whilst at work and operates a robust Drugs and Alcohol policy.

Workplace Emergency Response
-
Perform health & safety and fire risk checks, escalating concerns via the client's health and safety platforms.
-
Respond to incidents of chemical spills and flooding, containing hazards to prevent or limit environmental contamination.
-
Respond to first aid incidents of harm or illness, triaging the occurrence and administer remediating medical treatment and coordinating off-site assistance from local authority ambulance services where necessary.

First response to fire incidents, (in line with training and expectations), to extinguish small fires if safe to do so, coordinate arrival of local authority fire & rescue teams to support during any major incidents.

Proficiently use Body Worn Cameras & 2-way radio equipment as part of evidence gathering.

Respond to emergency incidents by using Emergency Response vehicle and designated equipment.

- Excellent communication (fluent in both written and verbal English) and customer
Service skills
- Department for Transport NASP level 1

Qualification in Health & Safety

Certified in First Aid

Manual Handling

Capable of achieving an SC and CTC clearance.

Full UK driving license essential & access to transport.

UK Right to Work & 5-year checkable background.

British Nationality / UK Residency of 5 years essential.

Ability to operate in a pressurised environment.

Previous aviation security experience, desirable.

TRAINING

Known Consignor Aviation Security training - prior experience is preferred.

Control room and CCTV monitoring, Visitor & staff id card pass systems.
