Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Gardener/Groundsperson to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of our outdoor spaces. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about horticulture and landscape care, with a focus on creating beautiful, functional environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various gardening and landscape maintenance tasks, ensuring the grounds are well-kept and aesthetically pleasing. Other general labour duties will be required.
Duties
- Utilise hand tools and power tools to perform routine gardening tasks such as planting, pruning, mowing, and edging.
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns.
- Assist with planting new flora, transplanting, and seasonal garden preparations.
- Operate equipment safely to carry out landscape maintenance activities including hedge trimming and soil aeration.
- Support the installation and upkeep of garden features, including pathways, flower beds, and decorative elements.
- Monitor plant health and identify issues such as pests or disease, recommending appropriate treatments.
- Ensure all grounds are kept tidy by removing debris, weeds, and litter regularly.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute landscape projects aligned with organisational standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is preferred but not essential; training can be provided for enthusiastic applicants.
- Familiarity with hand tools such as shears, spades, rakes, and hoes is advantageous.
- Experience operating power tools including lawnmowers, trimmers, or blowers is desirable.
- Driving licence required and travel to various properties owned by the company to carry out works
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and their maintenance will be considered a plus.
- Growing experience or understanding of plant care and horticultural principles is beneficial.
- A genuine interest in gardening and landscape aesthetics is essential for success in this role. Pay: £26,420.00-£27,000.00 per year
