Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our English Kitchen. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality traditional English cuisine. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional with strong leadership skills to manage a dynamic team in a vibrant hospitality environment. The Head Chef will be responsible for maintaining food safety standards, supervising food production, and inspiring culinary excellence across the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food quality and presentation which covers, Bar, Restaurant, Banqueting & Takeaway.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency and authenticity of English dishes.
- Manage food safety protocols in accordance with health regulations and company policies.
- Develop menus that reflect traditional English cuisine while accommodating dietary requirements and seasonal ingredients.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Monitor stock levels, minimise waste, and optimise inventory management.
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff to foster a positive working environment and professional development.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area in compliance with hygiene standards.
- Ensure excellent service delivery by collaborating with front-of-house teams during service hours.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques specific to English cuisine.
- Strong team management abilities with effective leadership skills to inspire staff and promote teamwork.
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Experience in menu development with creativity in traditional British dishes.
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and suppliers.
- Previous restaurant & banqueting experience demonstrating a commitment to culinary excellence and customer satisfaction
