Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring dishes are prepared to specifications and presented attractively
- Manage food safety standards by maintaining cleanliness, proper storage, and hygiene practices in compliance with regulations
- Support the training and development of team members to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise waste through effective utilisation of ingredients
- Contribute to creating innovative recipes and menu items that reflect current culinary trends
- Ensure all kitchen operations comply with health and safety legislation
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse culinary team
- Demonstrable experience in food safety practices and regulatory compliance
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service standards in a busy setting
- Leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
