The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director and working closely with the General Manager, the Operations Supervisor will be the operational heartbeat of the factory, ensuring that every cog in the machine turns efficiently, safely, and with precision.
Although not being responsible for production, you’ll be accountable for the end-to-end movement of goods, from Goods In to Goods Out (GIGO), ensuring that raw materials are received, processed, and dispatched seamlessly. You’ll also oversee the Engineering and Facilities Management functions, ensuring equipment reliability, site compliance, and a culture of accountability across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Goods In / Goods Out (GIGO) operations, ensuring efficient flow of materials through the site.
- Work closely with Production Planning and Quality to ensure operational plans are executed seamlessly and on time.
- Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across all factory functions.
- Develop and implement operational KPIs focused on efficiency, waste reduction, safety, and service.
- Overall management of GIGO personnel including ongoing support and training to ensure best practice is always followed.
- Lead and mentor operational teams to deliver consistent performance and high standards.
- A focus on Warehouse and facility management such as inventory management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Technical, and Production to uphold Beechdean’s commitment to producing award-winning products.
- Act as the operational point of escalation for the General Manager and Managing Director.
- Identify and deliver opportunities for operational excellence and future growth through improved systems, processes, and people development.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership experience in an operations supervisor role within food manufacturing (preferably dairy, chilled, or FMCG).
- Strong understanding of factory logistics, GIGO processes, and production support operations.
- Excellent understanding of H&S, BRC, and site compliance standards.
- Strong communicator, able to influence at all levels and drive cross-functional accountability.
- Hands-on, pragmatic leader with a passion for operational excellence and developing people.
- Data-driven approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Track record of implementing effective systems and improving factory efficiency.
