Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Event Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of attendees, staff, and premises during various events. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a secure environment through proactive surveillance, loss prevention, and emergency response. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough surveillance of event venues using CCTV systems to monitor activity and identify potential security threats.
- Enforce access control measures by checking tickets, badges, or identification to prevent unauthorised entry.
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter disruptive behaviour and ensure the safety of all attendees.
- Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, including medical situations, by providing first aid assistance when necessary.
- Monitor crowd movements and behaviour to prevent overcrowding or unsafe conditions.
- Collaborate with event organisers and emergency services to coordinate security efforts effectively.
- Document incidents accurately in reports for future reference and review.
- Conduct regular patrols of the venue to identify hazards or suspicious activity, ensuring all areas are secure.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring techniques is desirable.
- Possession of valid first aid certification is preferred; training can be offered for suitable candidates.
- Excellent observational skills with the ability to remain alert over extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
