Join the friendly and energetic team at Mint Dosa as a Waiter / Waitress and help us deliver a welcoming and memorable dining experience to every customer.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, confident, reliable and customer-focused, with the ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment.
As part of our Front of House team, you will welcome guests, take orders, serve food and drinks, maintain excellent restaurant standards and ensure customers receive attentive and professional service throughout their visit.
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, although training can be provided to the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Seat guests and provide menus promptly
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using our POS/till system
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high presentation standards
- Develop a good understanding of our menu, ingredients and available options
- Follow correct procedures when dealing with allergies and dietary requirements
- Check on customers during their meal and respond promptly to requests
- Recommend menu items, drinks, desserts and additional items where appropriate
- Process bills, card and cash payments accurately
- Prepare, clear and reset tables efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables, menus, service stations and Front of House areas
- Assist with takeaway and collection orders when required
- Support the kitchen and wider restaurant team during busy service periods
- Handle customer questions or concerns politely and professionally
- Follow food hygiene, health & safety and restaurant procedures at all times
Skills & Requirements
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Friendly, confident and professional manner
- Previous restaurant, hospitality or customer service experience preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues
- Good time management and ability to manage multiple tables during busy periods
- Attention to detail when taking and delivering orders
- Basic numerical skills for handling bills and payments
- Understanding of food hygiene and allergen awareness is beneficial
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual and well presented
- Willingness to learn and develop within the role
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- Must have the right to work in the UK
