Responsibility for ensuring the overall working kitchen environment is kept clean, tidy, safe, and hygienic always. You will also be required to assist under the direction of the chefs with some food preparation.
You will also be required under instruction be required to set up crockery for events and manage the storage of such items to minimize breakages and safe storage.

Main Duties:
- Maintain clean work areas, including back of house, kitchen, and pot wash.
- Maintain clean work surfaces. Ensure walls and floors are clean and sanitized.
- Ensure basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible.
- Assist chefs in basic food preparation – peeling, chopping etc.
- Ensure the food preparation areas and equipment are always clean (including crockery and cutlery)
- Unload food and equipment deliveries when they arrive for the kitchen department.
- Ensure the storeroom is organized and tidy.
- Maintain crockery and glassware, by ensuring clean items are always organized in the correct storage location.
- Remove waste from kitchens and maintain effective waste management, using correct bins and recycling processes.
- Report any broken equipment or items not considered safe to use to the senior chefs or operations management team in a timely manner.
- Attend any scheduled training to aid performance and maintain standards.
- Be aware of hazardous substances. Ensure that relevant protective clothing is worn and that instructions are followed correctly.

Essential Criteria
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Displays a passion for working in the hospitality sector

Desirable Criteria
- 1 year’s previous experience in a similar role
- Current first aid certificate
- Basic food hygiene certificate
