Purpose of this role
Reporting to the Stock Manager, this role supports the day-to-day operations of the Stock Department. This includes the receipt, movement, storage, and organisation of stock, as well as the preparation and assembly of customer kits in line with Medichecks procedures.
The role also involves, when required, the collection and delivery of stock components between the Bingham warehouse and our new warehouse located in East Bridgford.
This is a hands-on operational role within the stock and fulfilment environment. The role will help ensure that stock is available, organised, accurately handled and ready for use in kit production.
The post holder will support the Stock Manager with deliveries, stock movement, kit assembly and general warehouse duties.
Roles and responsibilities
Deliveries and goods-in
- Assist with the receipt of incoming deliveries.
- Check deliveries against delivery notes, purchase orders or internal instructions as required.
- Support the Stock Manager with unpacking, sorting and moving stock to the correct location.
- Report any shortages, damages, incorrect items or delivery discrepancies to the Stock Manager.
- Ensure received stock is stored safely and in the appropriate area.
- Keep goods-in and storage areas tidy, organised and free from avoidable hazards.
- Movement of stock, to and from our new warehouse location in East Bridgford by van.
Stock handling and storage
- Move, organise and store stock safely within the warehouse or stock areas.
- Ensure stock is placed in the correct locations and is clearly identifiable.
- Support the rotation of stock where required, including following expiry date or batch control processes.
- Assist with general stock control activities as directed by the Stock Manager.
- Help maintain clean, tidy and well-organised stock areas.
- Escalate any stock irregularities, damage, contamination concerns or labelling issues to the Stock Manager.
Kit manufacturing and preparation
- Pick components required for kit manufacturing in line with pick lists, works orders or instructions.
- Prepare components and materials ready for kit assembly.
- Assemble kits accurately in accordance with the relevant work instructions and
- procedures.
- Ensure kit build areas are kept clean, tidy and organised during manufacturing
- activity.
- Replenish materials and components used in the kit manufacturing process.
- Report any missing components, unclear instructions or build issues to the Stock Manager or supervisor.
- Support the team in meeting daily kit manufacturing requirements.
Stock checks and inventory support
- Assist with stock counts, cycle counts and periodic stock checks.
- Help investigate basic stock discrepancies by checking physical stock, locations and paperwork as directed.
- Support the Stock Manager in maintaining accurate stock records.
- Report low stock levels or unusual stock movements to the Stock Manager.
- Follow internal processes for stock movement, storage and recording.
Health, safety and housekeeping
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Use warehouse equipment safely and only where trained to do so.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy and free from hazards.
- Report accidents, near misses, safety concerns or damaged equipment promptly.
- Follow manual handling guidance when moving stock or materials.
- Support good housekeeping standards across the stock and manufacturing areas.
General responsibilities
- Work as part of the wider Stock and Fulfilment team to support operational priorities.
- Follow Medichecks policies, procedures, work instructions and training requirements.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate clearly with the Stock Manager and team members regarding workload, stock issues or operational concerns.
- Support continuous improvement by highlighting practical issues or improvements in stock handling and kit manufacturing processes.
- Carry out other reasonable duties appropriate to the role as requested by the Stock Manager.
