Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Sales Design Consultant role located in Barnet and Hampstead areas and may require the right candidate to work from both stores. The Sales Design Consultant will be responsible for providing personalized service to clients and promoting sales of Schmidt's interior design, furniture, and furnishings. Day-to-day tasks include conducting consultations, creating designs, presenting and closing sales, and providing excellent customer service.
Duties
- Engage with customers to identify their design requirements and preferences
- Utilise SketchUp and CAD software to create visual representations of design concepts
- Provide expert advice on product selection, colour schemes, and layout options
- Upsell additional products and services to maximise customer satisfaction and sales opportunities
- Organise and maintain merchandising displays to ensure an appealing shopping environment
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate materials and finishes based on their needs
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth workflow and excellent customer service
- Maintain organised records of customer interactions and design specifications
- Support the store’s overall sales targets through proactive engagement and personalised service
Qualifications
- Experience with SketchUp, CAD, or similar design software is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling and merchandising techniques
- Customer service and sales skills with a proven record of achieving targets
- Interior design skills with experience in creating designs for kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, or home offices
- Knowledge of furniture and furnishings with the ability to match clients' needs and preferences with Schmidt products
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients
- Degree or Diploma in Interior Design or related field is preferred
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Driving license - ability to travel between showrooms and site
- Proven ability to work well within a team environment and independently when needed
- Prior experience in retail or sales design roles is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
