An exciting opportunity has arisen at UCB for someone to be responsible for the growth and development of UCB’s Prayerline; both at its Stoke-on-Trent centre and throughout its national network of volunteers (based at home) across the United Kingdom. As Head of Prayerline, you will know how to lead, motivate and develop others in fulfilling UCB’s Prayerline mission. You will already have experience in maintaining spiritual vitality in a team, ensuring biblical alignment in all helpdesk responses, training materials and provision of pastoral care to staff and volunteers. This role will involve overseeing software and telephony systems, analysing call data to identify training needs and improve the efficiency and service delivery, ensuring every interaction through prayer, reflects UCB’s mission and core values.
Applicants must possess excellent management, communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy work schedule while motivating and encouraging both a small staff team of 8-10 people, and volunteers, in excess of 100.

This position is currently based at our Broadcast Centre, Hanchurch Lane, Hanchurch, Stoke on Trent ST4 8RY. We anticipate returning to newly refurbished premises in Westport Road, Burslem, Stoke on Trent ST6 4JF late 2026.

Salary: £40,500 – £43,800 per annum depending on skill and experience. Plus staff benefits that include life assurance of 4x salary, healthcare cash plan, and matched pension contributions up to 6%
