Overview
We are seeking a self-employed courier to join our logistics team, responsible for delivering parcels efficiently and reliably across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in delivery environments. As a self-employed courier, you will manage your own schedule while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Collect parcels from centralised depots or warehouses and ensure they are loaded securely into your vehicle.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Safely operate a van, adhering to all road safety regulations.
- Deliver parcels to customers’ addresses accurately and professionally, ensuring items are handled with care.
- Obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required, maintaining detailed records of each transaction.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly to ensure safety and compliance.
- Manage your own schedule, optimise routes for efficiency, and handle administrative tasks related to deliveries.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role.
- Valid driver’s licence with a max 6 points.
- Experience in commercial driving.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, often handling packages of varying sizes and weights.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Organised with the ability to plan routes efficiently and manage time effectively under minimal supervision.
- Strong organisational skills for maintaining accurate delivery records and documentation.
Pay: £110.00 per day
