Sundae Roast is a brand-new dessert café opening in Bowness-on-Windermere, serving artisan ice cream, waffles, brunch, great coffee and cakes — all in a fun, welcoming space.
The Role:
We’re looking for friendly, energetic team members who love working with people and creating a great customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and manage reservations efficiently to optimise seating arrangements
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are accommodated
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and hygiene
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, adhering to food safety regulations
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of front of house areas, including tables, counters, and service stations
- Handle customer enquiries courteously and resolve any issues promptly to ensure a positive dining experience
- Support kitchen staff with basic tasks when required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork
- Some cover making sandwiches and brunch dishes
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper serving techniques is advantageous
- Experience in food preparation or culinary roles can be beneficial for understanding menu offerings
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately and managing bills confidently
- Proven ability to upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales potential
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanour suitable for engaging with diverse customers
