Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Warehousing & Logistics Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in coordinating the safe and efficient movement of specialist chemicals and materials used across water and wastewater treatment sites throughout South West England.
This is a varied and important role that sits at the centre of our warehouse and logistics operation. You'll coordinate stock, deliveries, collections and warehouse activities, working closely with customers, suppliers, drivers, warehouse operators, engineers and operational teams.

- F/T – 5 days per week. Mon-Fri 8-4pm
- On-site location: Exeter area, SW England (occasional travel may be required).
- Salary: 28-33k per year.
Duties:
- Compliance
- Undertakes all required tasks safely and ensures all work under his/her control are of an appropriate compliance framework, protect Taytech’s assets and reputation, and meet its regulatory and legal obligations.
- Routine testing of fire alarms within Taytech offices & warehousing, recording of tests and evacuation procedures.
- Operational Efficiency
- Maintains appropriate operating standards and principles across the business to maximise synergy, sharing best practice and commercial benefit.
- Works to a value-adding regime of key performance indicators.
- Stock control within both Taytech and third-party warehousing, ensuring sufficient storage and blending facilitation to meet operational needs.
- Coordination of transport to support strategic storage of stock both in UK-wide warehousing space and customer site-based chemical dosing systems, ensuring continuity of supply.
- Daily monitoring and analysis of customer site-based chemical dosing systems’ usage to manage delivery requirements and maintenance visits.
- Leadership & Management
- Achieves objectives within agreed budgets and timescales.
- Co-ordinate day-to-day activities within Taytech’s logistics warehousing & operations teams, including staff management, inventory control, and scheduling.
- Assume overall responsibility for managing and overseeing; Warehouse team, reported to directly by the Senior Warehouse Operator
- Assume overall responsibility for managing and overseeing; Logistics & Transport team, reported to directly by the Senior Transport Operator
- Assumer overall responsibility for managing and overseeing; Field Service team, reported to directly by the Senior Field Engineer
- The WLC must have excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks. They will support the Operations Director in planning, developing, and implementing the operational strategy.
- Ensures his/her actions within the Operations team are aligned with Taytech’s values.
- Supports the business plan.
- Ensure through the professional service and commitment that expectations are exceeded.

- Continuous Improvement
- Operates under a culture of continuous improvement and learning particularly in areas of Health and Safety and operational processes.
- Participates in development and delivery of the business plan.
- Financial Control
Ensures warehouse/logistics budget is managed effectively.
- Asset management
- Ensures CMMS is kept up to date and accurate
- Manages equipment under his/her control
- Routine inspections of offices and warehousing to ensure high standards are maintained.
Essential Criteria
- Will have minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar work environment.
- Highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable coordinating multiple activities at the same time.
- You will be someone who can pick up the phone, solve a problem and keep things moving when plans change.
- Participates in all training enthusiastically.
- Educated to A level or equivalent in Mathematics, English and any scientific or engineering subject.
- Must pass a standard Fork-Lift Truck test within one month of start date.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Good communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence dealing with suppliers, customers, hauliers and internal stakeholders.
- Good IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office.
- Experience with ERP, WMS or stock-management systems.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
- The ability to remain calm and organised when priorities change.
- A strong commitment to health, safety and compliance.
- Holds clean, full UK driver’s licence.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience coordinating the movement of chemicals or hazardous materials.
- Knowledge of COSHH and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Understanding of ADR / Dangerous Goods requirements.
- Experience arranging chemical or hazardous-goods transportation.
- Experience within the water or wastewater industry.
- Forklift or warehouse operational experience.
- Experience with SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics or another ERP system.
- Experience managing stock within a regulated or quality-controlled environment.
- Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 standards.
Pay: £28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
