Shazan Foods is one of the UK's leading halal food manufacturers, supplying high-quality halal products to major retailers nationwide. As part of our continued investment in operational excellence, we are looking for two Butchery Operations Training Officers to support the development of our counter colleagues across multiple retail locations.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business and play a key role in improving training standards, compliance and colleague development.
About the Role
As a Butchery Operations Training Officer, you will be responsible for delivering structured operational training across our retail counter network.
Working closely with HR and Regional Managers, you will coach colleagues, complete competency assessments and support the implementation of company procedures, ensuring training is delivered consistently across all locations.
This role involves regular travel within your allocated region and occasional operational support where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver induction, refresher and on-the-job training.
- Coach colleagues to achieve company competency standards.
- Deliver training using approved company training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Complete competency assessments and maintain accurate training records.
- Support the implementation of digital learning platforms, including Nvolve.
- Promote compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety and company procedures.
- Identify training needs and provide feedback to HR and Regional Managers.
- Support new counter openings and operational projects.
- Provide operational cover where required to support business continuity.
- Travel regularly across your allocated region.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years' experience working within a butcher or meat retail environment, or a recognised butcher qualification.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Ability to communicate in Urdu.
- Full UK Driving Licence (Category B).
- Access to your own vehicle for business travel.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, email and WhatsApp.
- Strong communication and coaching skills.
- Organised, professional and able to work independently.
Desirable:
- Previous experience delivering training or coaching colleagues.
- Train the Trainer qualification (full training will be provided if required).

- £16.00 per hour., 40-hour working week.
- Business mileage reimbursement (45p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles per tax year, then 25p thereafter).

Additional Information

- This is a field-based role requiring regular travel between Shazan Foods counter locations across London.
