Treetops is a third generation family run independent Garden Center where people come in as customers and go out as friends. We are looking for another member to join our friendly team as a Garden Centre Assistant .
You will be at the heart of creating beautiful, thriving outdoor spaces! In this role, you’ll help customers find the perfect plants, gardening supplies, and outdoor décor while sharing your passion for horticulture. Your enthusiasm will inspire others to cultivate their green spaces, making every visit a delightful experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with selecting plants, gardening tools, and outdoor products, providing expert advice on horticulture and plant care
- Maintain the presentation of the garden centre by organizing displays and ensuring merchandise is well-stocked and attractive
- Share gardening tips and horticultural knowledge to enhance customer experience and promote healthy plant growth
- Care for and maintain stock, watering and feeding plants including the making up of bespoke tubs and baskets during the spring season
- Christmas tree sales during the winter season
- Support inventory management through merchandising, stock rotation
- Keep the garden centre clean, organized, and safe for both customers and staff
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer service requirements
- Passion for gardening, horticulture, and outdoor environments with a desire to learn more about plant care
- Previous experience in retail or garden centres is advantageous but not essential; plant knowledge and plant care is essential
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude
- Good interpersonal skills to engage with customers from diverse backgrounds
- Basic knowledge of merchandising principles to help create appealing product displays
the position is mainly weekend working with extra adhoc hours available during the week if desired
Pay: £12.71-£12.90 per hour
