Overview
We are seeking a diligent and organised Parts Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role involves managing inventory, processing shipments, and supporting the supply chain operations within a busy warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of logistics, warehousing procedures, and automotive or mechanical knowledge. Experience with ERP systems and warehouse equipment is highly desirable. Duties
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments using shipping & receiving procedures
- Pick, pack, and prepare parts for dispatch in accordance with customer orders
- Utilise forklift trucks for moving heavy or bulky items safely around the warehouse
- Maintain accurate stock levels through data entry into CMMS and AS400 systems
- Manage inventory using ERP systems, ensuring stock accuracy and availability
- Organise storage areas to optimise space utilisation and accessibility
- Assist with order fulfilment by locating parts efficiently and verifying order details
- Support shipping activities by preparing documentation and coordinating with couriers or lorry drivers
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist with cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Support equipment repair and maintenance activities as required, applying mechanical knowledge when necessary
- Provide excellent customer service by liaising with internal teams and external suppliers regarding parts availability
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience would be ideal but not essential.
- Proficiency in using forklift trucks & stock-control software is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, shipping & receiving procedures, and inventory management
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive or equipment repair is desirable
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping
- Experience working with automotive parts or in a similar fast-paced logistics environment will be beneficial
- Excellent organisational skills combined with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good communication skills for negotiating with suppliers and coordinating with team members

Pay: £13.45-£14.00 per hour
