Are you an experienced Materials Handling Engineer, Forklift Engineer or Field Service Engineer looking for your next opportunity?
We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team, covering Grantham and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems and building strong relationships with customers.
You will be responsible for the commissioning, servicing, maintenance and repair of materials handling equipment, working directly with customers across the region.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing materials handling equipment
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs efficiently and safely
- Repairing or replacing faulty components
- Ordering parts using a PDA
- Attending scheduled customer visits
- Completing service reports and following company procedures
- Building and maintaining excellent customer relationships
- Working closely with the wider Service Team
- Keeping your technical knowledge and skills up to date through ongoing training
- Following all Health & Safety, Quality and Compliance procedures
What We're Looking For Essential
- Previous experience within the materials handling industry - Essential
- Strong mechanical and engineering knowledge
- Good fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Flexible approach and willingness to support the wider team
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience working on forklift trucks
- Knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines and/or electrical systems
- Experience using a PDA or electronic service reporting system
- Previous field-based engineering experience
