We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Quarry Excavator Operator to join our production team based at our quarry site in Tandragee.
The Role
You will operate heavy tracked excavators (typically 50-tonne+) to extract raw materials at the quarry face, feed processing machinery and perform tasks needed to provide future site development. This is a hands-on role requiring precision, efficiency, and an uncompromised commitment to site safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate 360-degree excavators safely on active quarry faces, benches, and stockpiles.
- Load and Feed: Load raw materials into dump trucks, or feed crushers, screeners, and hoppers
- Site development: Including benching, grading, and maintaining clean hauling routes
- Machine Maintenance: Reporting any mechanical defects or maintenance needs immediately
- Safety Compliance: Follow strict health, safety, and environmental guidelines, reporting any hazards or defects
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 2 years operating large excavators in a quarry or heavy earthworks environment.
- Qualifications: Excavator plant ticket desirable but not essential
- Safety First: A strong track record of following strict workplace safety procedures
- Skills: Basic mechanical knowledge for daily checks and strong situational awareness for site safety
- Attributes: Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a close-knit team
