Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced KS1 Phase Lead to oversee and support the development of children within the early years foundation stage. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive learning environment, ensuring high standards of teaching and behaviour management, and collaborating effectively with staff and parents. Duties
- Lead and manage the KS1 phase team, providing guidance and support to teachers and teaching assistants.
- Plan, organise, and oversee the delivery of engaging, age-appropriate curriculum activities that meet statutory requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, implementing intervention strategies where necessary to ensure all children reach their potential.
- Promote positive behaviour management strategies to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Liaise with parents and carers to communicate pupil progress, behaviour, and development needs effectively.
- Organise staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance team effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety regulations at all times.
- Support new staff induction programmes and mentor early career teachers within the phase.
Experience
- Proven experience working within primary education, specifically in early childhood education or KS1 settings.
- Demonstrable expertise in behaviour management techniques suitable for young children.
- Strong teaching background with the ability to inspire and motivate pupils through innovative approaches.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Previous leadership or team management experience is desirable but not essential; a proactive attitude towards professional growth is valued.
