Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef / Helper to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production, alongside excellent leadership abilities. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff.
- Oversee food preparation and production to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure that kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
- Handle any customer inquiries or complaints regarding food quality or service.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and food production processes.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
