Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision and creativity, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation
- Follow established recipes, portion controls, and food safety guidelines to deliver quality dishes every time
- Assist in meal planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management to maintain efficient kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to hygiene standards at all times
- Support the team during busy service hours by serving dishes promptly and courteously to residents
- Monitor food storage areas for freshness and proper handling, preventing waste and ensuring safety compliance
- Collaborate with team members to improve kitchen workflows and uphold a positive work environment
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a similar setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation procedures
- Excellent skills in meal preparation, including chopping, grilling, baking, and plating techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and guest interaction during serving
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and basic inventory management
- Be able to cook good hearty, homely meals for 29 residents with different diets and needs, by taking guidance from our in house dietician
Pay: £12.71-£19.14 per hour
