Countrystyle Meats is a family run business and we are looking for an Experienced Butcher to work at our Lancaster Leisure Park facilities, Wyresdale Road, Lancaster.
We are looking for a butcher who is currently working in the butchery field who has a wide knowledge of meat cuts and a passion for providing high quality meats and services to our customers. Be reliable, friendly, enthusiastic and have good product knowledge, cutting and preparation skills.
Be able to use all butchers’ equipment such as meat grinders, knives, saws and other tools and prepare meat ready for purchase and cooking.
The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure and have a passion for food and their trade. Be experienced in traditional butchery and work well as part of a team, be committed to maintaining the highest standards.
Responsibilities
· Preparing and cutting carcasses (Pork, Beef & Lamb)
· Preparing and cutting specific joints/cuts of meat
· Managing counter display/set/Clean
· Serving and greeting customers
· Preparing special dishes
· The job entails supplying home-made produce to our customers via our delivery / click & collect service
· Daily orders / fridge stock control temperatures
· Ensure preparation and display is of the highest standard
Essential Skills
· Proven experience in a current butchery role
· Experience of working with customers
· Attention to detail and the ability to cope under pressure
· Good communication skills
· Positive attitude
· Health & Safety and Food Hygiene Compliant
Must be flexible about working hours and able to work weekends and Bank Holidays as part of a rota.
Salary negotiable dependent on experience
