Job Brief:
As Head Bartender, you will support the management team by leading bar service, maintaining high standards and ensuring the bar operates smoothly during busy shifts.
You will lead from the bar, support the team and take ownership of service, drink quality, stock control, compliance and training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead bar shifts alongside the Duty Management team.
- Maintain excellent drink quality, presentation and speed of service.
- Provide friendly and welcoming customer service.
- Support the management of guest issues during service.
- Maintain Challenge 25, licensing and safety standards.
- Ensure required checks, logs and documentation are completed accurately.
- Support stock counts and maintain organised stock areas.
- Monitor overpouring, waste and correct stock handling.
- Keep the bar clean, organised and ready for service.
- Oversee the onboarding and training of new bar team members.
- Ensure new team members complete their drinks specification tests.
- Coach the team during service and reinforce agreed standards.
- Support and hold the team accountable for consistent performance.
Requirements:
- Full-time availability of approximately 40 hours per week.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- At least two years’ experience in a busy cocktail bar.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a bar team.
- Strong cocktail, beverage and product knowledge.
- Confident leading service in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, organised and focused on high standards.
- Supportive leadership style with the confidence to hold others accountable.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
