At M&H Carriers, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Operations Supervisor to join our Inverness depot.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll support the Operations Manager with the day-to-day running of the depot, ensuring our transport operation runs safely, efficiently, and delivers the excellent service our customers expect.
As well as supervising drivers and supporting the wider operation, you’ll also carry out van deliveries and collections when required, making this the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys leading by example and being part of the operation.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the daily running of the transport operation
- Supervising and coordinating drivers throughout each shift
- Carrying out van deliveries and collections to support operational requirements
- Monitoring driver performance, attendance and compliance with company procedures
- Supporting route planning and resolving operational issues as they arise
- Ensuring vehicles are loaded safely, accurately and dispatched on time
- Providing support and supervision within the warehouse when required
- Assisting with the induction and development of new team members
- Covering Operations Managers holidays.
- Working closely with the Operations Manager to ensure service levels are consistently achieved
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced transport environment and can motivate others while remaining calm under pressure.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a transport, logistics or distribution environment
- Experience supervising or leading operational teams
- A full UK driving licence with the ability to drive company vans
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Good problem-solving ability and the confidence to make decisions
- Good IT skills and experience using transport or warehouse systems would be advantageous
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, 47.5h per week, overtime available (Saturdays).
