About the role
As a Driver Trainer with a C+E license, you'll have the important job of ensuring all our drivers are of the highest standard and that they represent the John Lewis Partnership brand professionally while out on-the-road in our articulated lorries.
It's a hugely rewarding role as you train, assess and test Partners (including apprentices) and agency drivers to pass our HGV programme, helping them to obtain their own license. You’ll also maintain their ongoing training and keep Partner training records for all Transport Partners.
In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 18:00 - 22:00 will attract an Evening Premium at a rate of £3.75 per hour, and any time worked between 22:00 - 06:00 will attract a Night Premium at a rate of £4.75 per hour. This will also apply to existing Partners who have enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.

Working pattern - This is an onsite role based out of our Bracknell Transportation Office.
The role involves working in night shifts and working 5 out of 7 days a week (potentially covering weekends)
Night shift allowance at 33.33%
Contract type - Permanent.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily responsibilities will include:
Assessing all transport drivers ensuring they meet the required driving and Partnership standards.
Conducting DCPC training.
Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are adhered to, including reporting injuries, accidents, and any Health and Safety issues
Attending regular meetings and communicating any operational issues to the management team
Ensure Partner Training Records are maintained and give appropriate refresher training when necessary and as requested by a Transport First Line Manager
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the latest driving regulations, techniques, and vehicle technology, using this knowledge to pass onto trainees
Operational monitoring of tachographs, accidents, vehicle facilities, and Microlise.
Internally the role is called Driver Trainer CE Licence

Experience in assessing drivers.
Drivers CPC qualification and qualification to deliver the programme.
DSA instructor qualification.
