- Security, Governance & Compliance: Enforce role-based access control (RBAC), data encryption (at rest and in transit), auditing, and compliance standards (GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Automation & Maintenance: Script routine maintenance tasks, index rebuilds, statistics updates, and database deployments using PowerShell, Python, or T-SQL/PL-SQL.
- Mentorship & Incident Escalation: Serve as the senior escalation point for database outages or incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and mentor junior database administrators.
Skills & QualificationsEssential
- 5+ years of commercial experience as a Database Administrator managing enterprise-scale production environments.
- Deep expertise in core relational database management systems (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle RDBMS).

- Proven track record in query optimization, execution plan analysis, index tuning, and database capacity planning.
- Strong experience configuring High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions (Clustering, AlwaysOn, Log Shipping, Mirroring).
- Proficiency in automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or SQL-based scripting languages.
- Solid understanding of data protection laws (GDPR) and database security hardening.
