Retail Shop Assistant - Fixed Term Summer Temp
Location: Wells Next The Sea
Job Type: An Initial Fixed-term (2 months), irregular hours working an average of 4 to 5 Shifts per week.
There is potential for this role to become permanent seasonal role, subject to business needs and performance.
Schedule: Working across Monday to Sunday - shift pattern working on a Rota basis. (Shifts will including working weekends and public holidays on a rota basis).
Average shift: 11am to 3pm daily. Note that as the season progresses hours may increase slighlty.
Hourly Rate: £13.23 per hour.
Norfolk Natural Living are a slow-luxury, artisan brand rooted in nature, craftsmanship, and thoughtful living, we are looking for a Temporary Retail Shop Assistant to provide additional support during our summer season in our newly expanded Wells Next The Sea Shop.
You will be helping to create a welcoming, sensory-led experience where story, scent, and customer connection come together. You’ll help introduce customers to our carefully crafted range, from fine perfumes and home scents in our perfumery and our home care products.
You’ll also play a hands-on role in delivering our immersive experiences from our scent services such as perfume layering consultations, to soothing hand & arm rituals and inspiring seasonal events that bring our brand to life. (Full training is provided)

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that embodies our brand's values.
- Delivery our customer services including scent layering consultations and the Hand and Arm Massage where you will perform the massage on customers. Full training is provided.
- Assist customers in selecting products, sharing insights about our products.
- Maintain shop cleanliness and visual merchandising to ensure a delightful shopping experience.
- Process transactions accurately, including electronic payments.
- Process delivery of stock ensuring rotation and levels maintained appropriately.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Participate in training to deepen product knowledge and improve customer engagement techniques.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Flexibility to work rota-based shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Passion for providing excellent sales support .
- Previous retail experience is a plus, but a willingness to learn and a positive attitude are essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to connect with diverse customers.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable with computer-based tills and basic retail software with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Able to work in Wells Next the Sea.
