As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Medication Management Specialist to join our ADHD Service and play a key role in ensuring the safe, effective, and seamless management of medication for our patients.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with prescribers, service managers, pharmacy professionals, clinical staff, and patients to support medication safety, prescribing processes, and outstanding patient outcomes.
The Role
As a Medication Management Specialist, you will provide clinical input on medication side effects and safety in collaboration with prescribers. You will be responsible for supporting prescribing oversight, medication monitoring, and quality assurance processes to ensure patients receive safe and effective pharmaceutical care throughout their ADHD treatment journey.
You will also contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of Clinical Partners' ADHD Service, helping to ensure continuity of care and an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prescribing Oversight
- Provide clinical input on medication side effects and safety considerations in collaboration with prescribers.
- Oversee all repeat prescriptions (NHS and private), ensuring alignment with titration outcomes and clinical recommendations.
- Support and quality-check the implementation and ongoing use of the NHS Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) for ADHD medications.
- Work closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure continuity of medication supply and support patients transitioning between episodes of care and care settings.
- Contribute to service improvements and best practice initiatives across the ADHD Service.
Titration and Monitoring Support
- Collaborate with prescribers to support safe, effective, and patient-centred titration processes.
- Identify, investigate, and escalate medication safety concerns or inconsistencies within the titration pathway.
- Support monitoring processes to ensure prescribing decisions are evidence-based and clinically appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with clinical governance requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registration with an appropriate professional body and a relevant healthcare qualification.
- Be either a Prescribing Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or a Non-Medical Prescriber (V300/Nurse Practitioner).
- A minimum of one year's post-qualification experience as an Independent Prescriber/V300.
- Strong knowledge of ADHD medications, including indications, mechanisms of action, side effects, and safe prescribing practices.
- Experience in medication management, prescribing support, pharmacy services, or a related clinical setting.
- A solid understanding of medication safety, clinical governance, and patient-centred care.
- Ideally, experience within mental health, ADHD services, or neurodevelopmental healthcare.
- Experience using CRM systems and electronic prescribing platforms.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
