Assitant Accountant - Fixed term contract

What You’ll Do
The post holder will work as a member of the Finance team with responsibility for reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and timely and accurate processing of monthly accounting journals to ensure accurate information feeds for internal and external financial reporting
Main duties and responsibilities
- To ensure timely and accurate information feeds through to the financial accountant for reporting on a monthly basis
- Prepare and input monthly manual journals for depreciation charges, vehicle leasing charges, bank transfers, fixed asset additions and disposals
- Prepare and input monthly manual journals for all rent, rates and utilities
- To assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts for all group companies and to prepare management information reports on agency, holidays and other expenses as required
- To maintain accurate and timely schedules for fixed assets together with an asset identification register
- To review and reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis identifying any actions required
- To assist in the preparation of annual financial statements
- Provide financial accounting services to, and liaise with, colleagues in other departments and operations
- Distribution of corporate credit card statements to cardholders and subsequent follow up on authorisations and coding
- Loan account reconciliations including interest accounting
- Provide support to the Group Accountant and Head of Finance
Other responsibilities
- Participate in team meetings
- Participation in departmental continuous improvement

Experience and skills
- 3 years plus experience of working in a Finance Team environment
- A sound understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, accounting controls and systems
- Excellent Excel skills
- Social care experience desirable but not essential
- NetSuite experience desirable but not essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive and collaborative attitude
