We are looking for a reliable, organised and hands-on Kitchen Manager to join our small kitchen team at 1863 Restaurant with Rooms.
This is a varied role that combines daily breakfast service for our hotel guests with essential kitchen preparation, supplier communication and kitchen administration. The successful applicant will play an important part in helping the kitchen run smoothly, efficiently and to the high standards expected at 1863.
The role:
The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for preparing and delivering breakfast for our hotel guests each morning, ensuring consistency, quality and attention to detail.
Alongside breakfast service, the role will include a range of preparation jobs across larder, sauce and pastry sections, supporting the kitchen team ahead of lunch and dinner services.
The role will also involve working closely with suppliers, placing orders where needed, checking deliveries, organising invoices and supporting the general administration of the kitchen.
This role is Monday - Friday | 8am - 4pm.
(Holiday cover for service on evenings and weekends may be required at certain points throughout the year)
About you:
We are looking for someone who is organised, dependable and takes pride in their work. You will need to be confident working independently during breakfast service and working on your own during our closed days on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.
Previous kitchen experience is essential and experience in a hotel, restaurant or similar hospitality environment would be beneficial. The role would suit someone with strong practical cooking skills who also enjoys structure, organisation and responsibility.
You should have a good understanding of food hygiene, kitchen safety and basic kitchen administration. Most importantly, you should have a positive attitude, good attention to detail and a willingness to be part of a small, supportive team.
In addition to being hands-on and a people person, the ideal candidate will:
- Work under a Head Chef within a professional kitchen
- Be hard working and well presented, with excellent time keeping skills
- Have a positive can-do attitude
- Be expected to have good creative flair and a real passion for your work
- Be able to work under pressure
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Meet food safety and cleaning standards
