About the Role
We are seeking a new Production Operative to join our team. In this varied role and after full training, Production Operatives will work in all areas of our factory and warehouse, including weighing ingredients, cooking in line with recipes, filling jars, labelling, picking, and packing goods, whilst ensuring to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety practices.
To excel in this position, you must be detail-orientated, committed to maintaining high quality standards, compliant with safety protocols and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure high-quality products meet specified standards
- Meet customer deadlines and adhere to agreed Key Performance Indicators
- Safely operate machinery, following correct procedures
- Weigh and mix ingredients according to recipes, filling jars and applying labels and lids
- Follow cleanliness policies for machinery and production area upkeep
- Accurately pick, label, and palletise sales orders to ensure secure transit
- Complete paperwork in accordance with BRCGS standards and agreed deadlines
- Use systems and paperwork for labelling, batch sheets, sales orders
- Control, monitor and set Critical Control Points
- Properly wear and use Personal Protective Equipment, reporting any issues
- Cover for colleagues’ absences to maintain line continuity and optimise output
- Support new starters in learning and adhering to correct procedures
- Operate Forklift Trucks safely, if licensed and trained
Skills and Experience
- Experience in a Production Operative role or equivalent is desired but training can be provided within the role
- Knowledge of the relevant safety and quality standards and procedures
- Ability to interpret production reports and identify issues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced & moving environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Proficient in multitasking, and meeting deadlines
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills
- FLT licence would be advantageous but isn’t essential
Hourly Rate: £12.75
Hours: Monday – Friday; 7am – 5pm
