About the Role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team, supporting young people aged 16+ in semi-independent supported living and our residential children’s homes across Leicester and Northampton.
As a Support Worker, you'll provide both practical and emotional support to help young people develop key life skills, build resilience, and transition into independent adulthood. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work across both settings, supporting care-leavers and vulnerable young people in line with UK Home Office guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support young people aged 16+ with daily living skills, education, and personal development
- Work across both residential children’s homes and supported living placements
- Promote independence, emotional well-being, and safe decision-making
- Implement tailored support and risk management plans
- Maintain professional boundaries and positive relationships
- Accurately record case notes, incident reports, and contribute to care reviews
- Respond to safeguarding concerns and escalate appropriately
- Encourage engagement with education, training, or employment pathways
- Work flexibly including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins if required
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with young people (especially looked-after children, care-leavers, or NEET young adults)
- A trauma-informed, person-centred approach
- Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
- Good communication, record-keeping, and teamworking skills
- Understanding of safeguarding, boundaries, and risk
- Flexibility to travel and work across sites in Leicester
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car desirable
