The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated AD (Anaerobic Digestion) Operator to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining biogas production equipment at our facilities. Your work will ensure the efficient, safe, and reliable generation of renewable energy while supporting our commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.
You will need a collaborative and flexible approach. The site operates with a small efficient team, so full integration, fitness and a willingness to work is essential. The AD operator is a key position to ensure the continued reliable performance of the plant.
Duties
Your tasks will include, but not limited to the following:
- Complete with the Site Manager or Supervisor PTW and ensure that contractors are working under RAMs.
- Assisting the site manager with reporting on plant performance, completing the daily report as and when required
- Day to day operations of the AD plant including completing the daily feed sheets and daily check sheets.
- Maintain high levels of housekeeping across the site.
- Feeding AD hopper with feedstock
- Support visitors on the weighbridge and monitor weighbridge records.
- Assist with the movement of materials around site if required to manage feedstock levels.
- Undertake the daily checks on the AD including the DM% and FOS/ TAC.
- Record any changes to the critical spares on site.
- Liaise with Upgrader and CHP contractors (not exhaustive) as necessary.
- Monitoring of the engines and AD using scada and alarm system.
- Record Site meter reads
- Assisting with repairs and servicing on the AD plant
- Plant and site maintenance/checks in accordance with site procedures
- Daily maintenance checks
- Liaise and support with third parties regarding plant repair.
- Respond to call outs when on call.
- Support as necessary with environmental management/Odour/Litter/Vermin controls
- Involvement in Health and safety practices, near miss reporting
- Maintaining/collect records / database related to site operation and ensure filed correctly.
The role will include interacting with customers both commercial and agricultural.
Skills and Experience needed for the role:
- Certification for operation of telehandler/ Loading shovel
- First Aid
- Manual Handling
- Fire Training
- Confined Spaces training
- Working at Height training
This is a full-time position, plus on call rota and holiday cover.
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex equipment systems
- Experience with heavy lifting and physical tasks in an industrial setting
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn new skills related to biogas plant operations
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks over extended periods
Pay: From £33,000.00 per year
