Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Wall and Floor Tiler to join our home renovation team - price work contracts available . The successful candidate will be responsible for installing tiling on walls and floors in various residential and commercial projects. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment. The ideal applicant will have experience in tiling, utilise hand and power tools effectively, and possess a good understanding of construction schematics and carpentry principles.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and lay tiles accurately on walls and floors according to project specifications
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying appropriate substrates or adhesives
- Use hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and levels to ensure precise installation
- Operate power tools safely for cutting and shaping tiles as required
- Read and interpret construction schematics and technical drawings to execute tiling layouts correctly
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and painters, to ensure seamless project completion
- Maintain a clean work environment by clearing debris and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Assist with surface preparation tasks including sanding or patching surfaces prior to tiling
Experience
- Proven experience in wall and floor tiling within the construction industry
- Familiarity with using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment relevant to tiling tasks
- Knowledge of carpentry principles and ability to read schematics or technical drawings is advantageous
- Experience with construction painting or related finishing trades is a plus
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
