Start Your Career in Refrigeration & Catering Engineering
Are you practical, hands-on and looking for a career where you can learn a skilled trade and build a long-term future?
This could be the opportunity for you.
We’re working with an established and highly reputable company that has been operating for over 15 years, specialising in commercial refrigeration and catering equipment across the South East.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Refrigeration & Catering Maintenance Engineer to join their team.
No previous refrigeration experience is required. What matters most is having the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a practical mindset.
This could suit someone looking for a career change, a mechanically minded candidate, someone with basic engineering or maintenance experience, or someone looking to develop a career within the refrigeration and catering industry.
The Role
You’ll be trained to carry out cleaning, maintenance, servicing and repairs on a wide range of commercial refrigeration and catering equipment, including:
- Commercial fridges & freezers
- Display fridges
- Under-counter refrigeration
- Cold rooms
- Ice machines
- Bottle coolers
- Cellar cooling
- Commercial catering equipment
- General kitchen maintenance
Night Work
Night work is an important part of the role.
As much of the equipment is located within busy commercial kitchens, some maintenance needs to be completed overnight when kitchens are closed to avoid disrupting the customer's operation.
You’ll therefore need to be comfortable working nights as part of the role.
What We're Looking For
Experience isn't essential — attitude is.
You could come from a variety of backgrounds, including:
- Mechanical or electrical maintenance
- Engineering
- Facilities maintenance
- Catering equipment
- Plumbing
- Vehicle mechanics
- Manufacturing
- Construction
Or you could simply be someone who is naturally practical, enjoys fixing things and wants to learn a new trade.
You’ll need:
- A full UK driving licence
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Good communication skills
- A willingness to learn
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Flexibility and willingness to work nights
