IKJ Imperial Joinery is a specialist bespoke joinery and fit-out company delivering high-quality craftsmanship across commercial, hospitality, retail, leisure, and residential sectors throughout the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Estimator / Contract Manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded individual with strong project management skills to play a key role in delivering bespoke joinery projects from initial inquiry through to successful completion.
The Role
As Estimator / Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for preparing accurate quotations and tenders, managing awarded projects, and ensuring contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with clients, designers, architects, suppliers, and our production team, you will ensure each project runs efficiently while maintaining the exceptional standards that IKJ Imperial Joinery is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates, quotations, and tender submissions for bespoke joinery projects.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
- Attend site surveys and pre-contract meetings where required.
- Source and negotiate material and subcontractor costs.
- Manage contracts from award through to final completion.
- Coordinate manufacturing schedules with the workshop and installation teams.
- Plan and monitor project programmes, budgets, and resources.
- Manage project variations, valuations, and cost control.
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and suppliers throughout each project.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and resolve any issues.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as an Estimator, Contracts Manager, or Project Manager within bespoke joinery, shopfitting, interiors, fit-out, or construction.
- A strong understanding of bespoke joinery manufacturing and installation processes.
- The ability to interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience within luxury residential, hospitality, retail, or commercial fit-out projects.
- Knowledge of procurement and project planning.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
